Lent begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14th
Lent is a period of forty days when Christians prepare for their greatest celebration of the year, Easter, which this year is April 1st.
On Ash Wednesday there will be Mass at St. Augustine’s at 10am and 7.30pm when ash will be used to make the sign of the cross on a person’s forehead. It is a sign of their seeking God’s forgiveness, and knowing their need of him
At St. Augustine’s there will be special events as getting ready for Easter is so important
